It has been thought that when you meet your friends at least once or twice a week that you cut your risk of developing cognitive decline in half. The last thing you want to be doing is avoiding going out as this can lead to mental health complications such as anxiety or depression. If your friends are inviting you out then make sure you say yes, otherwise they may stop asking.
You don’t have to go anywhere fancy, a simple bar or restaurant for drinks and dinner. You could also convene at each other’s houses, just to catch up and see each other.
Reduce Stress
Finally, if you are experiencing high levels of stress then you could quickly enter a downward spiral with your mental health. Stress is commonly known as the silent killer, with good reason, you don’t notice it until it hits you. You could be ‘okay’ one minute, and feeling the strain of everything the next. If this is the case then take a closer look at your home and work life, where is the stress coming from?
