A Disappointing Stay at The Biltmore Mayfair

Luxury hotels are supposed to offer comfort, professionalism, and peace of mind. Unfortunately, my current stay at The Biltmore Mayfair has been the complete opposite. Even while still staying here, the experience has already left a very negative impression and has fallen far below what anyone would expect from a five-star property.

Poor Sound Insulation Ruined the Comfort

One of the biggest issues has been the lack of proper soundproofing in the rooms. Conversations, laughter, and even shouting from neighboring rooms can be heard clearly through the walls. On several occasions, I was woken up around 3 AM because of noise coming from nearby guests.

A luxury hotel should provide guests with rest and privacy, but the constant disturbance made it difficult to sleep comfortably throughout the stay.

Hospitality That Lacked Warmth and Professionalism

Another disappointing aspect was the level of hospitality. Staff interactions often felt disengaged and indifferent, with very little effort made to ensure guests felt welcomed or cared for.

When concerns were raised, the responses were minimal and lacked the attentiveness expected from a hotel that markets itself as a premium destination. Good service is what separates an average hotel from a truly exceptional one, and unfortunately, that standard was missing here.

Housekeeping Concerns and Missing Belongings

The most serious issue during the stay involved housekeeping. After my room was serviced, one of my personal clothing items went missing.

When I reported the matter, the response was surprisingly casual. There was no apology, no urgency, and no meaningful follow-up from staff or management. Instead, I had to repeatedly visit reception every day asking for updates, only to receive the same response that they “couldn’t find it.”

For any hotel, especially a five-star property, the handling of guest belongings should be treated with seriousness and professionalism. The lack of accountability was extremely disappointing.

Final Thoughts

Overall, The Biltmore Mayfair has not lived up to the expectations associated with a five-star rating. Between the poor sound insulation, weak hospitality standards, and careless handling of guest concerns, the experience has reflected a troubling lack of quality and professionalism.

At this stage, I cannot recommend this hotel to other travelers. I sincerely hope management takes these issues seriously and works toward improving the guest experience in the future.
